Educational Philosophy:
Learning is the most exciting and natural thing to do.  The brain constantly searches for meaning and connections.  Teachers should structure lessons to help students create that learning and make those connections.  As students learn content, spelled out in state standards, they should also be provided practice using needed skills.  Those 21st century skills include higher level thinking skills like critical thinking and problem solving, as well as technology.  Sometimes, learning means making mistakes, and students should be willing to keep trying.  Hopefully, all this learning going on creates a positive community, where relationships are positive and everyone helps each other achieve.

Advice to Students:
Take responsibility in your learning.  Assignments are a minimum.  Go beyond that if you are interested.  Stay motivated!  Sometimes, the teacher may teach you things you think you don't need.  Be assured, we have spent a lot of time developing learning goals to help you be successful now and in your future.  So learn, regardless.  Ask questions.  Be involved in outside classroom activities.  You learn a lot there, too.  Enjoy your time in school.  Strive to live your dreams.  You will be a great asset to our country and to your generation.
